KVET Seizes Methamphetamine, Firearms During Search Warrant

On June 2nd, 2026, members of the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team (KVET) and Crime Reduction Team (CRT) executed a search warrant in the 5300 block of Clato St, in the Township of Cooper, following an investigation into drug sales.

The investigation concluded with the seizure of approximately 1 ¼ pounds of methamphetamine, multiple firearms, and evidence of drug manufacturing and distribution.

The 38-year-old female suspect, and the 32-year-old male suspect were arrested and lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail and will be facing multiple felony charges. On June 4th, 2026, the female suspect, identified as Rebecca Elizabeth Patterson, was arraigned in the 8th District Court and issued a $50,000 cash or surety bond. The male suspect, identified as Cortez Christopher Akers, was issued a personal recognizance bond.
