KVET Task Force Seizes Three Firearms During Weekend Operation

The Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team (KVET) continues its efforts to combat gun violence in our community. Gun violence has been named a top priority by community leaders and residents of the community. On Saturday, August 16, 2025, KVET led a task force focusing solely on offenders using, possessing or committing crimes with firearms. A total of three pistols were recovered.

1000 Block N Rose Shooting Investigation

On Friday, August 15, 2025, at approximately 01:08 a.m. Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers were sent to the 1000 block of N Rose to investigate an alarm when they were notified that a person may have been shot.

Second suspect charged in 2021 fatal shooting of Gerryon Kye
