A Grand Rapids woman was found guilty this week in connection with a 2023 fatal car crash that killed one person and severely injured another. On Jan. 27, 2026, a jury convicted Nyra Antinique Whitelow, 24, of second-degree murder and reckless driving causing serious impairment. Her sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 23, 2026, before Judge Bridenstine. The conviction stems from a crash that occurred Nov. 24, 2023, in the 3600 block of Stadium Drive. Whitelow was traveling more than twice the posted speed limit when her vehicle struck another vehicle occupied by Audrey Hensley, 22, and her boyfriend. Hensley was killed in the crash, while her boyfriend sustained critical injuries. “This verdict cannot bring back a life that was tragically lost, but it does acknowledge the profound harm caused by reckless speeding,” said Capt. Danielle Guilds of the Criminal Investigations Division. “Our thoughts remain with the victim’s loved ones as they continue to grieve.” By authority of Public Information Officer Zach Hamelton
