The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday afternoon in the 700 block of North Westnedge Avenue.
At approximately 2:43 p.m. on April 12, officers responded to a report of a shooting outside of a business in the area. At nearly the same time, an adult male victim arrived at a public safety station seeking medical help, after sustaining gunshot wounds.
The victim, a 23-year-old male, sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported for medical treatment. He is currently listed in stable condition.
Assisting agencies, including K9 units, responded to the scene to conduct a track and search for evidence. Investigators also reviewed surveillance footage from nearby businesses and are following up on several strong leads.
