Multiple Arrests Made in KVET and CRT Gun Violence and Drug Investigat

On September 18th, 2025, members of the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team (KVET) and Crime Reduction Team (CRT) conducted multiple operations in the City of Kalamazoo to address gun violence and the illegal distribution of drugs. The investigations took place at the following locations: 800 Block of W North St, 600 Block of Trimble Ave, and the 600 Block of Edwin Ave, all within the City of Kalamazoo.
800 Block of W North St:
KVET / CRT were conducting a directed patrol addressing gun violence. During this operation, a subject was observed illegally concealing a firearm on his person. With the assistance of KDPS Operations division, a traffic stop was initiated. A search of the vehicle yielded 2 firearms both equipped with extended magazines. In all, 3 18-year-old male suspects were arrested and lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail. They will be facing felony charges stemming from this case. The suspects’ names will not be released at this time.
600 Block of Trimble Ave:
KVET / CRT executed a search warrant following an investigation into drug sales. Prior to the execution of the search warrant, the suspect was detained in the City of Portage. The search yielded approximately 4 ounces of cocaine, 2 handguns, 1 rifle, evidence of drug sales, and a large sum of US currency, which is believed to be profits of drug sales. The 20-year-old male suspect was arrested and lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail. He will be facing multiple felony charges stemming from this case. The suspect’s name will not be released at this time.
600 Block of Edwin Ave:
KVET / CRT executed a search warrant following an investigation into drug sales. The search yielded a firearm and evidence of drug sales. No arrests were made at the time of the incident.
