KDPS ribbon cutting ceremony for two new stations!

Please join KDPS for a GRAND OPENING for Station 2. This is a significant milestone in our mission to serve and protect our community as we gather to mark the official opening of our new station, which represents a monumental step forward for public safety in our city. The ribbon cutting will be on Oct. 10, 2023 at 2 p.m. at 1007 E. Alcott. 

“Our previous station, though steeped in history, had become outdated and inadequate to meet the evolving needs of our growing community. This new station represents not only a physical upgrade, but also serves as a symbol of our commitment to providing the highest level of service and safety to our citizens. This state-of-the-art facility will enable us to enhance our operational efficiency, response times, and overall effectiveness in keeping our community safe,” said Dave Boysen, Chief of Kalamazoo Public Safety.

Additionally, KDPS will celebrate a ribbon cutting for its brand new Downtown Substation on Oct. 12, 2023 at 2 p.m. at 248 N. Kalamazoo Mall. "The opening of the downtown KDPS substation marks a significant step forward in our commitment to enhancing public safety and serving our community with dedication and integrity," said Dave Boysen, Chief of Kalamazoo Public Safety.
