On Sunday, August 16, 2026, at approximately 1 a.m., Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS) officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Fox Ridge Drive for reports of multiple shots fired. Shortly afterward, a male called 9-1-1 and reported that he had been shot.
Upon arrival, officers located an 18-year-old male who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Officers immediately provided medical assistance, and the male was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
The investigation is in its preliminary stages, and no suspect information is available at this time.
