At approximately 8:39 p.m. on November 16, Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS) officers were notified of two possible gunshot victims in the 600 block of Harding Place. Officers responded and found two juvenile male victims, ages 16 and 17, suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.
Both teens were transported to a local hospital, where they were treated and released. Detectives are still working to confirm the exact location of the incident. Limited information has been provided to investigators at this stage.
During the course of the investigation, the 16-year-old victim was identified as a suspect in an unrelated armed home invasion that occurred on November 15 in the 1000 block of Interfaith Boulevard. After being discharged from the hospital, he was taken into custody. On November 17, he was formally charged with home invasion and two counts of felonious assault. He has been lodged at the juvenile home.
