At approximately 3:14 a.m. on June 23, Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers responded to a 911 call reporting a stabbing in the area of Burr Oak and Burdick. A 32-year-old male was located at the southeast corner of Vine and Burdick with stab wounds and was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
Officers later identified the scene in the 1000 block of South Rose Street, where a knife was recovered. After speaking with witnesses inside the home, investigators determined the original 911 caller was the primary aggressor. The 32-year-old suspect had assaulted a 41-year-old female victim, resulting in a serious injury, and injured another 59-year-old male with a knife during the altercation. Two additional victims were also assaulted. Two of the victims were transported to a local area hospital for their injuries.
The suspect remains in critical but stable condition at a local area hospital. The investigation is ongoing.
