KDPS Arrests Suspect in Douglas Avenue Homicide Investigation

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS) has made an arrest in the homicide investigation of 68-year-old Minette Suzanne Weaver.

On January 29, 2025, with the assistance of the United States Marshals Service, KDPS arrested Marvin Delaney Humphrey, 53, a Kalamazoo resident, in connection with Ms. Weaver’s death. Humphrey has been formally charged with Homicide – Open Murder and was arraigned today, January 30, 2025, where he received a $500,000 cash/surety bond.

“We understand that nothing can take away the pain of losing a loved one, but we hope this arrest brings some measure of relief to Ms. Weaver’s family and the community,” said Captain Danielle Guilds, head of the Criminal Investigations Division. “Our detectives have worked tirelessly to ensure justice is served, and we remain committed to seeing this case through.”
