KVET Investigation Leads to Arrest, Seizure of Drugs and Handgun

On February 10th, 2026, members of the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team (KVET) and Crime Reduction Team (CRT) executed a search warrant in the 1300 block of Concord Place Dr, in the Township of Oshtemo, following an investigation into drug sales.

Man Arrested in 2023 North Rose Street Double Homicide

On Feb. 11, 2026, officers with the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety arrested Rajai Keyontae Brown, 44, on outstanding warrants related to the 2023 double homicide of Tarra Mayes and Alfred Simpson.

Brown was arraigned later that day before Judge Ankley on two counts of open murder. Bond was denied.

Kalamazoo Man Convicted for 2024 Shooting Off West Main Street

A Kalamazoo man has been convicted in connection to a 2024 shooting that resulted in numerous people being injured.
