Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team (KVET) & Crime Reduction Team (CRT)

The Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team (KVET) and Crime Reduction Team (CRT) are intergovernmental cooperative enforcement units comprised of sworn officers from the City of Kalamazoo. KVET and CRT’s mission is to reduce violent crime and illegal drug distribution in the City of Kalamazoo and surrounding areas. KVET and CRT work diligently to improve quality of life for the citizens of the Kalamazoo area by locating and arresting offenders of drug and violent crimes.

KVET and CRT are comprised of two teams consisting of one Captain, two Sergeants, eight Investigators, a Strategic Crime Analyst, a Kalamazoo County Prosecutor, a DEA Task Force Officer, a parole agent with the Michigan Department of Corrections, and civilian support staff. Additionally, KVET and CRT work closely with our federal partners to include the United States Attorney’s Office, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF).
