Resident Assaulted during Home Invasion

Kalamazoo, MI:  On Saturday, January 14, 2012, at approximately 6:02AM, public safety officers investigated a home invasionin the 1500 block of Vasser.  According to the victim, he was awakened by noise in the house.   While the victim was checking the house, he was assaulted by an intruder.

 

The intruder fled the residence on foot. A K9 track was attempted; however the suspect was not located.  The suspect is described as a short male wearing a red coat and stocking hat.  It is unknown at this time whether anything was stolen from the home.

 

The victim was taken to the hospital, where he is being treated for his injuries.
