Our son, Christopher, recently had a seizure during one of his classes at Loy Norrix (he had never experienced one before). PSO Noble was present immediately after the event and did an excellent job providing immediate care to Chris as well as following up in the days after the event. It was a pretty scary experience for all of us but would have been much worse had it not been for his help. Thanks so much. — Matthew & Carrie Hybels March 26, 2013

I would like to thank the prompt, and courteous help from the three KPS officers, as well as their dispatcher, who assisted me last night in identifying the car and its occupants parked in my driveway and confirming there was no malicious intent. I felt a little silly calling KPS and said so to one of the officers, but as he correctly pointed out "better safe than sorry." Thank you all for your service. — Michael Jefferies March 8, 2013

On Friday, February 22nd I was on my way to take my son to Urgent Care for having a high fever. On our way there, my son began to scream with pain and went into a seizure. I pulled over at Stadium and Drake in the Save-A-Lot parking lot, and got my son out of the car. I immediately called 911, the dispatchers were more than helpful with calming me down until the responders got there and the ambulance. 2 officers arrived before the ambulance and were so kind. They kept me comfortable with knowing that everything was going to be ok. The one officer offered to drive my car to the hospital for me while my son and I rode in the ambulance to Bronson. I was in such a panic that I never got the officers name that helped me the other day. I just can't believe how warm and helpful they were. I never expected for them to drive my car to the hospital for me. I just want everyone to know that the Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers are a great group of officers. Kalamazoo is very lucky to have them. Thank you so much for all that you do!! — Laticia Dahl February 25, 2013

I would like to thank all of the PSO, Fire, EMS, and all other KPS officers who were present for the rescue of a 10 year old in the Winchell/Oakland Drive area. Unfortunately, the 10 year old was attending a sports camp at the YMCA on Maple Street and had left the building and wandered back into the Kleinstuck Perserve. One of the Y staff attempted to look for him and could not find him. It was only after the yelling for help that a neighbor off Dover/Linwood Street area called for help and fire and Officers arrived. Unknown to me that the wonderful neighbor had called, I had also called 911 to report the 10 year old, my son missing as the YMCA staff had not. The dispatcher informed me that fire rescue was on the way and he had climbed up into a tree about 20 feet. Much to my surprise and shock after I arrived, my son was at the top of a pine tree and it was guess-timated by EMS to be at least 40' in the air. I can not thank all of the professionals involved to worked very hard to find a truck, ladder, lift, any equipment available to help get him down. After unsuccessful attempts to find equipement, a very brave soul from one either fire or a PSO climbed the tree with a harness and rope to bring him down. As he climbed several of the officers on the ground talked and did their best to distract my son, help calm him and just talk to him. The other officers stood present to assist under the large pine tree. Thank goodness my son was ok, a little scared, but safe and sound on the ground. I was deeply moved over the kindness, professionalism, and seeing everyone work together to help get him down safe and sound. A job well done and a very thankful parent. — Cathy Franklin August 21, 2012

I had a flat tire. While calling my insurance for road side assistance, an accident (one car) occurred right at the same place I was pulled over at (left lane /on highway) . Officer Noble & a female partner was 2nd on scene. I didn't see the first officers name tag, due to him putting on a safety vest to assist us with our tire. I ts great to have my kids see an awesome act of kindness from these officers — Alicia Rowlson August 3, 2012
Sgt. Tom Denharder
A neighbor started an accidental fire which spread into my backyard. It went right up to my house, but was put out before much damage was done to my house. By the time I got home, the fire trucks were gone and Sgt. Tom Denharder was the only one left. He was very kind and calming at a time when I could have freaked out. I really appreciated it. — Tara Stauffer July 1, 2012

About 2 months ago My husband and I moved to downtown Kalamazoo. Two weeks after we moved in we were victims of a home invasion. Then a week ago we had a lady in front our apartment screaming and then just a few minutes ago I had a guy knocking on my door. In each one of these situations Kalamazoo Public Safey responded very quickly. They were very professional and careing and each situation was handled without any further problems. We moved from Parchment and when similar situations occured there they did nothing and it made things very hard. I just want to say thank you for all you have done to keep all of us in the Vine area safe. — Lori Woodward March 25, 2012
Det Beauchamp
To KDPS Offices, Command Staff, Chief Hadley, and Community ; Words can not express the dedication to a case, the kindness to the victim and those associated with the case, and the efforts put into a case. But with words I can say Thank you to KDPS, Det Beauchamp and the team members right down to the officers who responded in the early morning hours of August 7th, 2007. They were able to get a description of the suspects that helped shape a case that is finely near conclusion after the arrest and conviction of one suspect in 2008 and the arrest on Tuesday (2/21/2012) of the second suspect. Thank you! — Kevin Hoffer February 23, 2012
Officer Caswell
I just wanted to extend my thanks once again to Officer Caswell for helping get my car unstuck this morning. He and the other officer were very professional and polite and I sincerely appreciate the assistance! — Ken Henderson January 17, 2012
